A short shock primer, they control the natural tendency of the spring to continue to bounce and keep the tire in contact with the road. The spring rate (and short allowed travel) is what make it seem so stiff. Having put a great set of shocks made by a master named Kernut on an trail/trials bike years ago, the Koni's may pay for themselves in longer tire life and one less accident. Max
